Guilin and Yangshou
I spent 1 day in Guilin visiting the Reed Flute Cave and the Quixing Park. Here I saw wild monkeys and took a picture of the famous Camel Hill. The city itself doesnt have to many sights on offer but it has many hills and bridges.
The next day I took a bus to Yangshou, where I joined up with Shawn once again. The town is fairly small and life evolves around the West Street - also called the tourist street. Its a paradise for tourists, where one can shop for literally anything and the many bars and restaurants compete for customers.
We rented bicycles the next morning and cycled down the smaller river (Luyuang) heading for Dragon Bridge. It wasnt more than 15km but it took us half a day. After lunch I left Shawn and his new found friends behind enabling me to go faster. My next destination was to be the Moon Hill. The climb was a pain due as it was stairs once again. But the view made up for it.
The next day we took a local bus to Xin Ping, where we would take a boat (a motorised bamboo raft would describe it better) up and down Li River. The boat ride was pleasant and the view fantasic. Basically we saw the most beautiful area between Guilin and Yangshou, while we saved ourselves a lot of money.
The same night we boarded a 'sleeper bus' to Shenzen. This bus had indeed beds or berths, however they were very narrow and short. After arrival in Shenzen, we crossed the border to Hong Kong and went straight back into China. We then spent the next two days in Shenzen doing nothing but sleeping in, chilling out in the afternoon and meeting Shawns friends at night.
I got tired of this town very quickly as there was nothing to see. I couldnt wait to continue with my journey. So we crossed back into HK the next day.
