Area : 248 square kilometers
Population : 659,021 (as per 31 December 2007)

... and home of Germany's biggest banks.

GRAND FINALE

Dear Readers ... i dont know how to express myself ... so lets keep it simple ... my journey has finally come to an end. I am leaving Australia in less than 24 hours for Bangkok, where i will spend a few days before continuing on to Berlin. Yes, I am returning HOME. After 2.5 years in Asia and 7 years living abroad I will start a NEW LIFE in my home country.

Of course, this isnt the end of this blog ... there will be existing stuff happening in my life (hopefully!!!) which will be worth posting ... so please stay tuned and keep coming back here for more stories and pictures.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Milford Sound

a MUST-DO ! i booked myself on a one-day-return trip, which left Queenstown very early in the morning. We arrived in Milford Sound around 1 pm, just in time to catch the boat which would take us around the fiordland ... yes, Milford Sound should correctly be named Milford Fiord. It was a spectacular sight ... though it would have been much better on a clear and sunny day. it had been raining all morning , so the mountains were all covered in fog and mist ... check out the pictures below to get a feeling of what Milford Sound is like ...

Queenstown

very beautiful place at the shore of a lake ... surrounded by snow-capped mountains. as you can imagine this place is very touristy. i seem to have chosen the wrong time to come down here ... as the weather has been consistently bad since my arrival (thats why i am having time to post all this stuff here)...

Dunedin

I went to Dunedin to visit my friends Kilian and Naoko who live in this beautiful victorian-style house (as photographed below) ... I was enjoying my stay with them - thanks to Kilian and Naoko for their hospitality AND for taking their time to show me around Dunedin and Otago Peninsula.
