Great Wall of China
Finally i got to see my second world wonder : the Great Wall of China. And what an experience this was. We got dropped off in JinShanLing, where we climbed onto the wall. The sight of the all, situated on top of a mountain chain, was breathtaking.
From here we would walk on the wall for 9 km until Simatai passing through 30 watch towers. We were lucky as it wasnt the busiest season, therefore only a few people where about. The sun was out - a perfect day. The only downturn : it was hazy, so the view onto the surrounding mountains was limited. However it cleared up later enabling us to see for many kilometers.
The course was an up and down forcing us to do steep climbs taking the remaining stairs. The watch towers were generally occupied by tourists taking breaks and locals selling drinks and souvenirs. It took us less than 4 hours to complete the hike. What is left are plenty of images on my camera and my own memory. An unforgettable experience.
